The engine shed was built in 1911 together with the entire coal mine and at that time was regarded as the vanguard of the industrial architecture. The shed which is the most impressive of the whole mine lies next to the old smithy and would be used as a smithy during the years 1928 till 1975.

2001 - after many years of vacancy - the old building was restored and got 2 new winter gardens in order to facilitate restauration. A new cellar and an additional annex accomodate today the bathrooms, a storage room and the plant room.

Due to the vitreous extension the old brick-lined building envelope is still visible and appears indeed beautiful. The interiour space hasn't got any built-in components and functions as a big hall today which can be separated into smaller foyers. The atmosphere in this shed is both historic and very modern due to the exquisite elements like huge candleholder. By the way, there are a great many candles everywhere on tables, along the walls, on the floor and this is one of the very few venues where candles in abundance do not any harm because of the old brick walls. A very special atmosphere which you should try with your next event should it be a gala dinner, a private party or a product presentation. Even the old tracks are visible, only covered with glas as if the engine is about to come back soon....
