The Castello in Oleggio Castello is an almost unique example in Italy of neo gothic style based on the original english 16th century gothic Tudor architecture. British art experts recently defined the architecture of the castle as one of "the purest reinterpretations of Neo Gothic Tudor as a manifestation of Victorian England".
It's creation is entirely due to the artistic passion for the English neo gothic style of the Marquis Claudio.
The beautiful position on the hills overlooking Arona and Lake Maggiore makes the Castello to a jewel in the crown of the international hospitality collection "Hospitalité, Historique, Hòtellerie".
Rebuilt in the late 1800's in the style known as Arts and Crafts, headed by William Morris and set in magnificent parklands, the Castello is an authentic corner of England located on the shores of Lake Maggiore.
For those wanting to experience the "Castle" way of life, there are 9 newly restored bedrooms in the South Wing, each named after one of the owner's family members. Modern comforts have been carefully combined with old elegance, dating back to the 1870's to provide an ambience that is both unique and exquisitely comfortable.
The family still owns the castle and lives here and they are wonderful hosts.
