Palazzo in Rome - etia no.: 121
One of the most luxurious and unique places to stay in Rome, situated in a XVI century Palazzo.
description:
Apartment:
This apartment is superbly located on the second floor in a historic palace, on Rome’s legendary Via Condotti, the city’s most trendy and chic shopping district, lined with its staples, such as Valentino, Bulgari, Armani, Gucci and Ferragamo. The Spanish Steps, with the adjacent tiny and enchanting Keats-Shelley House, are five minutes walk away and many of Rome’s most appreciated sights, such as Piazza del Popolo, Piazza Navona and Campo di Fiori as well as its sought after restaurant district and visitor favourites are within easy walking distance. The palace was built by Bartolomeo Ammannati in the second half of the 16th century for a wealthy Florentine family. Even Napoleon lived here with his mother in 1830. Later the palace had been acquired by the Ruspoli family, who still resides in it today. From its inception, the palace has been a place of hospitality hosting ambassadors and used as a meeting place for Europe’s high society and place “to see and be seen”. Careful renovation has fully restored the apartment to its original splendour and offers guests the best of a classical Roman Palazzo with all modern conveniences.
The apartment consists of three magnificent rooms (about 200 sqm each) adorned with original, antique furnishings, massive oil paintings, XVI century tapestries, parquets floors, and hand-stencilled walls. It is accessible through the Green Reception room, which is beautifully adorned with oil paintings from the XVI century showing the most picturesque corners in and around Rome and elegantly furnished with antique chairs, sofa and table. The room also features a large fireplace. Breakfast is served daily in the Green Reception on Bulgari Silver. Between the Green Reception and the master bedroom lies the intimate living area also called the Yellow Room, comfortably furnished with sofas and armchairs and equipped with a large satellite plasma TV – ideal for relaxing after a day in the city. The luxurious master bedroom enjoys a large canopied bed draped with beautiful fabrics and silks (bed 1.80 x 1.80 meters). One of the six huge oil paintings in the bedroom forms the headboard while another painting opens to reveal an exquisite marble bathroom. There is also a large bathroom, small kitchenette, and powder room.
Dependance – The Blue Room: 2 pers
A cozy, 20 sqm suite is situated on the second floor of the palace and can be rented in conjunction with the main apartment. The bedroom is called “Blue” because of its décor and color. The Blue room is accessed through a private staircase (16 stairs) off the main living room of the palace. The suite can be fitted with either two separate single beds or one double bed (180 x 190 cm) and enjoys an en suite bathroom with shower and bathtub, a cabinet closet, and small balcony.
