Villa near Rome - etia no.: 101
This villa is today one of the few points from which you can admire the city of Rome, the Pincio and the Janiculum hills.
description:
Built in 1800, it later became the residence of a noble venetian family and until the beginning of this century, was considered an exclusive country house, just outside the vatican walls. In 1875 Garibaldi regretfully turned down the offer to reside at this luxury villa (which would have enabled him to look down upon the Pope in the valley below) as it was far from the Parliament building for the aging General.
Today, the villa is outside and yet inside Rome at the same time. It is located in a large, secluded park, away from traffic; yet, any point of the city below is easily accessible within a few minutes. In this way, the villa preserves its exclusiveness. It has been a natural, and aristocratic setting for many important events including national and international meetings, fashion shows and important receptions. This luxury villa is the ideal place for business luncheon and pleasant dinners. It is daily adding new chapters to it's long history. Perfectly restored to it's former elegance, the splendid private rooms and terraces are available to anyone desiring a unique and unforgettable meeting point.
