In the midst of an idyllic park  you find the former monastery, the “Mother House“ of the Kaiserswerth social welfare work which was officially opened on 7th May 1903 together with the Mother House Church.
From here the deaconesses were sent to their community care centres within Germany and abroad, and this is where they returned to collect strength needed for tAlle Objekte anzeigenheir work and to reflect on their motivation. The Kaiserswerther Diakonie, the social welfare work, developed from the former deaconess’ institution.
In the year 2002 the latest modernisation of the “Mother House” and its redesign as the Hotel Mutterhaus and Conference Centre was completed. Today the Hotel Mutterhaus has three functions:

It is a guest house for overnight stays and conference guests.
It is a learning house in form of conferences and own workshops.
It is a border house where the spirituality plays a role.

55 stylishly but simple furnished rooms provide homeliness and quality of living with a special character. Carefully restored original furniture dating from the time of the foundation of the “Mother House” contributes to this ambience out of the ordinary.
The house features also a “room of tranquillity” and a small library. Current publications are available in the business and historical rooms. Moreover, there is a small shop in the hotel where you find interesting books and little souvenirs.

The Mother House Church of the Kaiserswerth Sisters, offering prayers and services, is only a short walk through the park. Benches and lawns are provided to reflect and relax.
